How about Nintendo Switch’s functions ?
Like the 3DS, Wii U, and Wii before it, Nintendo has opted for a simple, clean software interface for the Switch. Though the console isn’t due to launch until March 3, NeoGAF user “Hiphoptherobot” received his console in the mail early and was able to upload a short video to Vid.me showing off the system’s different menus and setup screens.
The main part of the device is essentially a tablet, so requires docking to turn into a console you play on the TV, hence the ‘TV mode’. Other modes are ‘Handheld’ and ‘Tabletop’ – see below. Moving the tablet in and out of the dock is easy, and you can even do it mid-game without pausing if you wish – it only takes the console a second to switch the display between the tablet screen and the TV.
You can share screenshots to social media and copy them to a microSD card, and you can link to your Nintendo account and hit the eshop to download one of a handful of digital games. Somewhat shockingly, you can’t copy your saved games off of the Switch or onto a MicroSD card, meaning that as far as we can tell, there’s currently no way to back up Switch saves. If you lose your console, your 100 hours of Zelda progress are forfeit.
It comes with everything you need in the box.
Worried that you might have to buy a lot of little pieces to actually get the Switch to transform? Don’t be: it comes with the tablet, dock, two Joy-Pads, the gamepad dock, the straps, an AC adapter, and even the HDMI cable you need to hook it up to a TV set. You can get a different version with one red and one blue Joy-con (instead of the grey ones) for the same price.
